Professor Jesse Byock of UCLA is one of the foremost experts on the Viking age and Iceland. His work is helping to prove the Icelandic Sagas are more than just myth. He used the sagas to find a site to excavate. In the excavation he found the church that the Sagas mentioned. In the church he found an empty grave that the saga's say once was the resting place of a Viking hero before he was moved. This is too much for a coincidence. It shows that the sagas were at least partially factual.
